Our History

Simmons Brothers Construction is a family owned and operated business whose primary focus has been commercial, industrial and institutional construction within Medina County since 1959. Our construction related roots within the county actually trace back over 115 years to Willie W. Simmons who was a building mover by trade. His son, Gay O. Simmons was later a contractor who, in 1952, established Gay Simmons & Sons Construction with his sons Bernie, Bob, Don and Harold. In 1959, following the retirement of their father, Don and Harold formed the present day Simmons Brothers Construction. Since that time we have grown to our present position as a premier builder in Medina County and have continued to bring additional generations into the business.

Serving as Chairman and CEO is Don Simmons who, like his father, is a carpenter by trade. Becoming partners in Simmons Brothers Construction in 1979 Bill Simmons, Don’s son and a bricklayer by trade serves as President and his cousin Dave Simmons, Harold’s son who is a carpenter by trade, serves as Vice President. (Simmons Brothers has long valued involvement and engagement with the local community. A 2018 local documentary by filmmaker Miles Reed featured Don Simmons as he shared some of the history of the Medina area.)

Through continued growth and evolution over the years, we have cultivated a premier group of contractors who help to form a design/build team whose quality, craftsmanship and customer satisfaction is second to none. The success of Simmons Brothers Construction is due largely in part to the unparalleled working relationships shared within this team. Coupled with the hands-on field experience of company owners and key personnel, along with on-staff engineering support, projects are designed, budgeted and constructed with efficiency and keen attention to detail. It is a shared trust and dedication within this team which allows projects to be delivered on time and on budget.

The dedication to customer satisfaction, along with attention to quality, competitive price, value and timely completion of projects, has provided the impetus for the company’s growth and stability. These values continue to propel us forward and promise a still brighter future.
